3 Night - Summer Getaway
Day 1
Morning:
Travel from Vancouver along the beautiful Sea to Sky
highway on scheduled motor coach or train (operated by Rocky Mountaineer). If you are
driving be sure to take a rest stop at one of the Provincial Parks along the way.
Welcome to Whistler! Experience all that Whistler has to offer on a scenic tour of the
venues of the 2010 Winter Olympics and Paralympics including the Whistler Sliding
Centre perched near the bottom of Blackcomb Mountain and the Whistler Olympic Park in
the beautiful Callaghan Valley.
Afternoon:
Now is a perfect time to explore Whistler's pedestrian
village. Follow the smells of fresh waffle cones to discover Whistler's best ice cream
parlours or take pleasure in the abundance of outdoor bistros, coffee shops and more.
Whistler Village is a shopper's paradise with over 200 shops.
Evening:
Tackle a large pile of nachos on a sun-drenched pub patio.
Or sip locally inspired cocktails while listening to local musical talent. With more
than 90 restaurants within Whistler Village, the dining options are endless!
Day 2
Morning:
Today is all about Whistler's famous alpine. Head up the
chairlifts from the Blackcomb Base or the Whistler Village Gondola from the main
village and explore a few hiking trails at 6,000 feet. The handy trail map will guide
guests to the easy or more challenging paths. Have lunch on a mountain-top patio while
admiring the stunning scenery. After lunch, take the exciting PEAK 2 PEAK Gondola,
spanning the distance between Whistler and Blackcomb's peaks, and stretching a little
more than three kilometers. The ride takes just 15 minutes and offers incredible views
of the surrounding mountain range and Whistler Valley below. Wait for the silver
gondolas as they offer glass bottoms for a 360° experience. Remember to watch for
resident black bears along the way - they love to dine on the bushes surrounding the
gondola towers!
Evening:
Feeling adventurous? Join a unique dining experience tour
and journey by ATV or Jeep to the Crystal Hut, perched atop Blackcomb Mountain at
6,000ft. From the deck of the rustic cabin enjoy the rich array of alpine colours and
panoramic views of the surrounding Coast Mountain Range. Relax and enjoy live
entertainment as the chef prepares a sampling of West Coast Fare including fresh BC
Salmon, salads and dessert.
Day 3
Morning:

view bears doing what they do best...being bears. Riding in a comfortable 4x4 vehicle,
guests are lead through a maze of ski area roads that traverse the area's diverse
forests, meadows, and stream environments.
Afternoon:
When the snow melts, the rivers in and around Whistler
Resort run white and fast. Catch all the thrills of white water rafting, from mild to
wild, as certified guides navigate you safely through haystacks and holes on the Green,
Lower Cheakamus, Elaho and Squamish rivers. Whether you want to hold on tight and enjoy
the ride or grab a paddle and dig in, there's a white water rafting trip for everyone
in wet and wild Whistler!
Evening:
Can't decide on one restaurant why not join Whistler
Tasting Tours? During this guided 3-hour walking tour, guests enjoy a full four-course
dinner, where each delicious course is provided by a different restaurant and expertly
paired with a fine British Columbian wine.
Day 4
Morning:
This morning, after all of your Whistler adventures, take
some time to relax as you experience the age-old Finnish tradition of soaking in
soothing outdoor baths at Whistler's newest and most unique spas, Le Scandinave Spa.
Start with a soothing eucalyptus steam bath or wood burning sauna and then cool off
with a quick plunge in a cold bath or Nordic waterfalls. The last step is to relax in
the solarium or on a hammock by the outdoor fireplace. (Note: All visitors to
Scandinave must be 19 years of age and the spa advocates a quiet environment). Or, if
you prefer to continue with more active adventure, rent a trail bike from one of the
many bike rental shops in the village and get ready to explore the Valley Trail, a 30km
paved pedestrian/bicycle route linking several parks, beaches, neighbourhoods, and
playgounds to Whistler Village. Why not pack a lunch and cruise to the beach for a
picnic and cooling swim? Afternoon It's time to make your way back to the hotel to
catch your transfer back to Vancouver. Pick up a couple of souvenirs on the way and
take some last photos of your summer holiday in Whistler!
